This Catalogue (more correctly, Leaflet) carries the printer’s date of 1 November 1958, which makes it a 1959 catalogue in line with Viking’s policy of announcing the next year’s models at the Earls Court Cycle Show, London, England in the autumn. The model line-up is:
- Severn Valley – Road (Series “V”)
- Twenty-Five – Road-Track
- Pursuit – Road-Track
- Mileater – Road – (Series “M”)
- Ian Steel – Road – (Series “SD”)
- Hosteller – Touring – (Series “H”)
- All-Rounder – City/Touring – (not identified as Series “A”, but the model numbers begin with A)
- plus children’s bikes including the revolutionary P.A.L.
By this time Viking seemed fairly consistently to have the series letter as a prefix to the frame number, using V also for the Twenty-Five and Pursuit as well as for the Severn Valley, and S for Ian Steel. I have insufficient data to be able to say that this format was always followed.
